I did realize that sketching at the baseball game yesterday would fit into Scavenger Hunt 128. I did a couple of real quickies as I don't want to miss the action so they were just a few minutes each. They are in my 4 x 6 inch sketchbook with a Micron 05 pen. (If you are new around here, you can click on the photos for larger images and search about sketching, painting, pastels, and more in the upper left search box on my blog.)
Item Number 6, outside seating. This is looking down on the handicapped seating from where we sit.
Number 7, over the fence. Looking over the outfield fence toward the softball stadium. You can see the tops of the buses where fans sit or stand. They have food and drink and have a good time. The one bus with the roof has lawn chairs, speakers, TV, radio, solar panels, lights, and no telling what else. Number 8, blowing in the breeze, the flags on the bus.
Yesterday's game was not good for Texas. The Longhorns lost to Kansas State 5-4 in twelve innings. Not good. Very interesting game. Read about it on the official page and Joanna's Longhorn Baseball Page. Joanna took her camera and got some great close up photos have a look on her page.
Burt Hooten's number 20 shirt was retired. He was amazing and played for the Dodgers in the late seventies. That made me think that my Mom must have watched and rooted for him. She was a big fan of the Dodgers. Way back, I worked for Continental Airlines and I asked her where she wanted to go on her first flight .. Europe, Hawaii??? She said, " I want to go to Los Angeles and see the Dodgers!" So that is what we did. Good memories yesterday.
The Longhorn's had the bases loaded at this point, but couldn't bring anyone home. Drat! You see the look over the fence in the outfield that I was sketching.
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

Jo: wow, high scoring game for Texas.
Cute little quick sketches, Jo - it's a challenge to capture gestures and stance so quickly, but you did well. Glad you got to go, sorry they lost..
How neat that your sketching goals fit into your enjoyment of sports! You're so brave sketching with a pen.... no eraser.... yikes! :-)
fishing guy, LOL
Regina, thank you. It is difficult to sketch there. Many distractions!
Teresa, sometimes we are lucky with the items on the Hunts. :) I like using the pen, fast and no changing of the mind! I'm not patient to go over things.
