No art for the art fans. What can I say? Working on taxes and then to the game. We do enjoy these baseball games, more art soon!
Hey, the Longhorns won the first game of the Texas Tech series. It was a wild game is several ways. At the start of the game it was 73 degrees and 55 degrees F. when we left. The wind was blowing so hard and it was coooooold in the stands. We had jackets, hats and blankets. People that don't usually go to the games were in shorts and t-shirts and looking at us like we were nuts. Well, we looked at the weather forecast! As the temperature dropped then they knew!
In the third inning Tech scored 2 runs and we thought, "Oh, no." Opponents have scored in the third inning the last few games that the Horns lost. But not tonight, the Horns came back and scored 5 runs in the bottom of the third and went on to win 9 - 5. You can see on the scoreboard that Tech had 5 errors. Whew. That makes 50 for them so far this season. That is a lot. Read all the great stuff on Joanna's page and the official story on the official site. They do have some great close up photos.
You can see the wind blowing the flags. Usually only two or three of the players wear the knee length pants, tonight they all had them on. Really looks like baseball. Guess they were trying to change their luck! Click the image for larger size.
Tech has several players under 5'7". Look at the difference compared to Brandon Belt.
Headed back to the dugout at the end of an inning.
Look at all the Longhorns on base! Something we haven't seen for a while and I think they were loaded three times in the third inning. Yipee!
Hook-em was running around and came up our way. He had on a white shirt tonight, different! I like the orange cast on the kid.
And the score. Hard to take a photo in the dark. I took the fireworks but the photo was way too blurry.
The temperature should be about 63 degrees tomorrow. We will still need jackets in the shade in the windy stadium. They are having a special ceremony to retire Brooks Keischnick's number before the game. We will try to be there early. His number is right above our seats. Joanna wrote about it on her page with links to the official story.
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

Jo: Looks like a fun time at the stadium. Your baseball photos are always so colorful.
fishing guy, Thanks. Orange does come across as very bright! Not my favorite color to wear, but I try to wear the team colors, too. Being that it is burnt orange it isn't quite so electric! :)
Re: "no art for the art fans".... I think you're entitled to a break!
Thanks Teresa. Sometimes the break gets a little extended. Ha. Art is there in the back of my mind.
