I sketched this evening for Scavenger Hunt 119 and realized I hadn't posted one from the last hunt. Because they are both on one page I will post them together.
Number 9 from Hunt 118, movement - the ceiling fan with a Micron 005 pen. Today is Number 1, Hunt 119, something red _ an apple with colored pencil. I did not get the deep purple red of the delicious apple. Maybe another time. Colored pencil are not my favorite. It took about thirty minutes just to do this little apple. Hmm.
My sketching friend Sue Modrak from Michigan will be arriving in a couple of weeks for a marathon art week. We go from daylight to dark. We will have a workshop with Rebecca Neef one day, go paint with Regina Burchett one day and hopefully get to San Antonio and paint at Susan Carlin's studio at La Villita and see Susan.
Baseball:
Joanna, Jennie and I went to the Alumni Game. It is UT players that are playing professionally now and the new UT Baseball team for 2009. It is always fun to see the "old" players and the new ones, too. The new Horns won 3 - 0. Not a lot of hitting and a few hit batsmen on both sides. Guess all are a little rusty and it was very windy. The season starts on February 20. Next Sunday there will be Fan Appreciation Day with an Orange White Scrimmage. Baseball season has sure arrived quickly this year.
Flags in the wind. The softball team was playing over by the far flag in the white rock stadium. Texas lost 6 - 4 to Florida State in a weekend tournament for the final game. :(
The two teams for the Eyes of Texas at the start of the game.
The "old" guys warming up. The "new" Horns won, 3 - 0. It was a great day except for the wind.
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

Jo: It was worth the time to get that neat apple in color, it's one of my favorites.
What great colorful baseball shots. The weather sure changed from when I was there.
Your marathon art week sounds wonderful. I'm jealous. I'm also jealous that you get to go to college baseball games.
fishing guy, Thanks. Yes, the weather is greatly improved except for the wind and we desperately need rain. Except during the baseball games, right?
Bag Blog, I'm going to post about that, it isn't that hard to do. We do enjoy the games, but that takes a huge amount of time .. almost as much as having a job. Ha. Fun though.
You are both up early! Me, too, couldn't sleep. Hmmm.
