I am sneaking some sketches in for Scavenger Hunt 115, it ends tomorrow. Another deadline, right? There is a thread going for a portrait a day on wetcanvas.com so one of the challenges in this Hunt was to do a portrait a day. Well, I certainly didn't make that, but here is my one portrait.

Challenge, Portrait a day ... Me. My face is rounder and more wrinkles. About 20 minute freehand sketch with the Micron 05 pen. Number 1, Thumbs, left and right, about 10 minutes.

Number 2, cordless something - my mouse, about 10 minutes. and Number 3, something with a hole in it - the rubber holder for my cell phone charger. (It is orange by the way, doesn't look it does it?)

#4, Newest art supply item - My new Lamy pen on its fancy box. Also about 10 minutes.
I got out a little 5 x 7 inch canvas this afternoon and tried a wet on wet painting of flowers with the Open acrylics. It was not a satisfying experiment so I just painted it out and will try something on the canvas tomorrow. I was attempting to use them like oils and it didn't work. I would put down a stroke and attempt another along side and it would move/blot out the first stroke. I will have to experiment with that some more. At least I painted, which is always good.

Regarding your portrait: you don't usually look that startled, either. :)
Joanna, you made me laugh! Thanks.
