This is the donation painting for the Family Crisis Center annual dance/fundraiser that I posted about yesterday. The yearly dance has a theme and I try to paint a painting to fit the theme. This year "Shipwrecked" is the theme. I have no photos of a shipwreck and very few ocean photos. The ones I have are not on my iPhoto and who knows which box they are in. This is probably the second seascape I have ever painted. I am pleased with it.
The dance is always well attended and everyone has fun. There is dinner, dancing, auction and raffle. The band this year is The Triumphs. This painting will be in the raffle. You could be the winner. For tickets call 512 321-7760
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

Jo, it's lovely! Really nice work.
Rose, thank you so much for the pat on the back. :)
Wow, Jo, only your second seascape? Very nice.
Lovely! I like the color you used on the waves. They look transluscent.
Jan and Valerie, Thank you so very much. Appreciate it. :)
I love the painting!!!!
More seascapes! More seascapes!!
You did a great job... I feel like I could step in and go for a walk along the beach. Love your colors.
And you should be proud of this seascape - very nice!
Juanita, Thank you, daughter! There is something about water, huh?
Teresa, Thank you. I'm not big on water .. getting in it or on it. Guess we need to go to the coast again and get some photos. Most of my water references are from Canada.
Bag Blog, thank you so much. I need to try one in pastels. Seems like a challenge.
Great seascape. Your colors are great. I love your rocks and waves. You should definitely do this again, seascapes, I mean.
Miki Willa, thank you so much. I plan to try some seascapes in pastels which are more my thing as you know.
Very nice. Did I ever give you a copy of the photo I took of the seascape you painted for Esther?
Thank you, Joanna. I think you gave me a hard copy and it is above my desk here with a bunch of photos. I will watch for it.
