I worked on a gift painting today. I made a quick painting of bluebonnets for our mail delivery lady, Mary. She is absolutely the best person. She watches for us and brings any packages to the door for us. The UPS and Fedex people just put the boxes at the bottom of the steps and run. Mary always rings the bell and if we aren't here, she will bring it back. She takes care of our summer mail as well. Our address changed several years ago for 911 service. Our street was changed from Pinewood to Tanglebriar and the number changed, too, for some reason. We still get a card once in a while from old friends or family that never changed our address and she brings them on down. Amazing woman!
I wasn't sure what to paint. Last year I painted a couple of spots on her route out here with the pine trees. You can never go wrong with bluebonnets in Texas, right? The frame is navy blue with a little gold trim right next to the painting. I will wait at least a day for Gene to frame it so I can make sure it is done!
Here is the painting framed. There is a reflection at the top of a photo in an oval frame. I thought I had a photo with no reflections and wrapped the package. Sorry, but you get the idea at least. I like it all framed up. Gene does a good job!
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

What a lovely gift... that vibrant orange sets the flowers off so beautifully.

Very pretty, Jo - great detail. She'll love it - what a great present!
That is a heck of a nice gift. I am sure Mary will love it.
Carol, thank you for your nice words. Complements do bring about the light, huh?
Regina, thank you. A great person deserves a great present. :)
Bag Blog. Thank you, too.
Thank ye, Joanna. Hugs.
Lush bluebonnets! Love the halo of light behind them. Was in TX a few years ago... the most beautiful wildflowers everywhere you look!
Hi Teresa, thank you so much. You were here at a good time for sure. The flowers are just beautiful.
