There is an artist on the Scavenger Hunts on wetcanvas.com that is just superb. She doesn't have a website or blog. She is known as Cairo on wetcanvas and as SinaiDreamer on flicker. Skip over there and have a look at SinaiDreamer's photostream. I am amazed at her drawing skills and then she throws in a little color in whatever medium is at hand and brightens up our sketching days. I call her creations drawings and paintings. They are much more than sketches.
She is in living in Cairo most of the time so we get wonderful peeks into the countryside and people. I am sure you will agree. A recent sketch is of dates on the palm tree! I never thought of dates except at brown sugary things you put in date nut bread.
When I grow up, I would like to be able to draw like Cairo. Sigh........
