Last Sunday, November 9, the Austin Pastel Society had the opening reception for the show at the Northwest Hills United Methodist Church Gallery. The show will be up until December 1. You can see the art when the church office is open, you can call for times. (512-346-0190) More info here. The reception was from 12:15 p.m. through 1:30 p.m. It was a very nice opening with a nice group of artists and visitors in attendance. It was well supported by the Church Gallery committee and members.
Entry in the show was open to Austin Pastel Society artists and our juror was Jeri Salter. Jeri is a member of the APS and past president of the Central Texas Pastel Society.
The Best of Show was won by D.K. Richardson, a $75 Gift certificate from Cheap Joes Art Stuff. There were ten Merit Awards each receiving a $20 Gift card to either Asel Art Supply or Jerry's Artarama:

I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

I so enjoy seeing the reception pictures!
Robin, sorry I don't have more photos, maybe Debra's niece will share some of hers with us. Thanks.
It was a very nice reception, Jo, and congratulations on your award!
Thank you, Regina. Like Susan says, awards are nice and when they come with a little $ prize, that is fun, too. I was very surprised. There was beautiful work there this time, yours included. :)
Wonderful! Hoe delighted you look with your paintings and award! I am glad it went well. So glad you posted the pictures of the show....
Marie
The tile lady, thanks. There will be more photos on the Austin Pastel Page, soon, too.
