I sketched for Scavenger Hunt 105 yesterday evening.
Number 5, Spot where things are dropped off. This is the couch, but my studio was full, too, after we got home. Number 6, crumpled paper. These took 15 and 10 minutes respectfully with a Micron 05 pen.
Number 7, religeous symbol, a small St. Joseph statue we kept from selling the house in Austin. Number 8, souvenir, a silver napkin holder from Bolivia. This is almost the actual size, about 4 inches tall, so it is for small folded napkins. These took about 1/2 hour with the same pen.I decided to do a sketch today and try the Flip recorder.
Number 9, an entry to your home, not the main entry. This is the back screen door that opens to the deck. You can see how long it took to sketch this on the movie. I added a few lines after I shut the recorder off. The little movie follows. It isn't great. I was holding the recorder and sketching and didn't talk much. Better next time, right?

Rose, thanks. I will try to do a more complicated one, but they take so long to upload, I will probably edit it down. I missed some of the strokes. I need to figure out how to place the recorder or have Gene hold it. Ha.
You make me laugh. Where's Dad's tripod? The one he found at the thrift store (or whatever) a few years ago? That will work wonders in your self-recording efforts. Fun to watch you sketch a bit, regardless.
I couldn't believe, by the way, that you made those strokes on the left side of the painting from right to left. I could never do that. ALL horizontal lines must be drawn left to right for me. Perhaps that explains my sad sketching skills. :) I'm thinking vertical lines can go top-to-bottom or bottom-to-top, though. Hmmmm...
Jo: I do love your sketches and that was interesting to see you go through it.
Holding the camera and sketching must have been quite a trick! No wonder you didn't talk - that would have been like trying to walk and chew gum at the same time. Although that is funny, I understand totally.
I can't blog about this yet, but several of us older ladies have choreographed a dance to do at Lindz' bachelorette party (Mama Mia). We have found that we cannot talk and dance at the same time. It is just too much to think of at one time. Maybe when we were younger we could have done it.
Heh, heh, Joanna. You know how patient I am. I had to try the new toy without looking for the tripod. You can see that the right to left lines aren't too straight either! I was trying to be quick for the movie, right?

Your sketches look great, Jo. And drawing wadded up paper shows how much patience you have!!
And I agree with Joanna on the left to right lines - I don't know that I could draw a line the other way. Good job - and a fun new toy!
Jo - I watched the video, but couldn't get the sound to play. I'll have to try it again on another computer. It's nice to see you sketch...you have a very steady hand!
Thanks, Regina. Is selective patience like selective memory? You draw great lines and make beautiful sketches and colored pencil drawings.
