Blowing in the Wind - Hunt Sketch, Deer Photos

Our day was beautiful, but the house was cold. We left the upstairs open last night and it got down to about 40 degrees F outside. Gene cleaned the fireplace so we can use it if needed tomorrow morning. It is supposed to get down near freezing. The house was about 60 degrees F this afternoon, so I went out in the yard to get warm. (The Minnesotan plein air folks will laugh at that!)I decided to sketch and sit in the sun. I found an item from Scavenger Hunt 105.

Number 10, blowing in the wind. The front steps with the Texas flag. Micron 05 pen in sketchbook, about 15 minutes. The Hunt ends today, I'm surprised that I got 10 of the 26 items done this time.

We golfed yesterday and these two small deer showed up on number 8.

We weren't very close, but I took a photo anyway. It is pretty out there. We don't see many animals anymore. I think they trimmed a good deal of the undergrowth and the animals skedaddled. We haven't even seen the rooster but he hangs out more on the back nine and we normally just walk the front nine.

Nice of those little deer to pose for you! That's a big pastel you wiped off - I'm sure you will come up with something great for it. The underpainting looks very cool. And yes, I'm sure the Northerners will laugh at us, but it's been raht cold heah!!

Yes, too bad we weren't closer to the Bambies. I read the wetcanvas plein air group and those guys get out in the snow and ice. Some have heated boots, etc. Craaaazy...
