It has been ages since I took a few minutes to sketch. I have missed two complete Hunts. That is 18 days alone. These are for Scavenger Hunt 105 on wetcanvas.com.
You can put "sketches" in the search box above and read about my sketches or "why I sketch" for a shorter version. I will be back in my regular, almost daily blog mode soon. We are home in Texas and trying to catch up on the unloading, paper work, etc., after being gone for four months or so. I did sketch a tiny bit in New Mexico, but nothing for the Hunts.
Number 1, a gift - a little stuffed bear that was a gift from Gene and number 2, favorite beverage - a glass of wine. If you know me, I like wine and diet coke, caffeine free, milk and coffee, depending on the time of day.
Number 3, something I collect - mirrors from Peru. These are wooden with pieces of mirrors and gold leaf. Some have glass painted on the back side of the glass around the edges as frames. Wonderful handwork by the artists. I collect many things, our house looks like a museum and has way too many things to dust. I have so many coffee mugs that I am not allowed to buy any more! Number 4, folds - the folds on the cuff of my sweat pants at my ankle.
These four sketches took about an hour (Is that more than a few minutes?) in a sketchbook with a Micron 05 pen. I posted about the pens I use in this post.
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

These look great, Jo! I really like the cuff on the pants leg and the mirrors - and you're getting really fast, to do all of these in an hour.
Thanks, Regina. Lack of patience brings on speed, if not accuracy. :)
For a minute there I thought you were saying that you liked "wine and diet coke" together, but I kept reading and it made perfect sense. I like your mirrors.
Jo: Really cool sketches, did you every make a big drawing by your sketching technique?
bag blog, Thanks. Haven't tried the coke and wine together. :) In Argentina they put sparkling water in wine. Hmmm.
Fishing Guy, the largest pen and inks I've done are about 8 x 10 with regular pens with India ink. Maybe I should try a few again with these new, easier to use pens. Thanks for the idea.
