Pastel Painting Evetts in the Evening - Finished

There were some minor corrections to the painting I posted before. I straightened some lines and gave it a few other touches and Gene is framing it now.

Evett's in the Evening
Pastel painting, 9 x 12 inches

This photo is pretty close now to the painting in real life. We will take it to Peppers Gallery in Magdalena next week.

Stop in Peppers to see the artwork and then get a bite to eat at Evett's. You will be satisfied with both. They are on Highway 60 in Magdalena, New Mexico.

I love the wash of light on the pavement in front of the cafe. Such a great feel of evening from this.

I just love your nighttime paintings! I feel like I'm standing outside the cafe!

Kasie, thank you so much. It is a place that I like so that helps. :)

Jeanette, Thank you. I like that time of day, too. The street is just that busy unless it is rodeo time. Ha.

Valerie, I appreciate your nice words. Like I said, that is about how many people would be around. Small, small town. You wouldn't need a reservation.

Very nice atmosphere, Jo. A moonlit night somewhere in a small town in the west. I think my favorite part is the light in the arched window. Great painting!

Hi Regina, thank you. I enjoyed painting this. Even though it is from photos, I painted out under the carport with my iPod going. :) I think (and hope) it looks better in real life. The blue is darker on the top and not so glaring. I couldn't get the blue and reddish color of the building to cooperate in a photo. I took many. :( Where is Joanna when I need her. Ha.

Hi Joan, I would love if you could stop by. Fun, huh? Maybe we will have a Scavenger Hunt reunion somewhere. Hmmmm. Thanks for the nice words. :)
