Scavenger Hunt 96, Scissors, Sphere and Upside down Hat

Scavenger Hunt 96 is well on its way. I'm so slow in posting and sketching. Arghh. I sketched these on the evening of August 6 in my Cachet Studio Blank Book that has 7 x 10 inch pages which is a gift from Regina. This sketchbook will not be exclusively for the Hunts, I already had sketches in it. They were done with a Pilot regular ball point pen. I think I will enjoy sketching in various books for a while to vary the sizes and texture of paper. This paper is smooth and not too heavy, it won't take any watercolor for sure. You can see in the first sketch another sketch on the back of the page is peeking through.

Number 1, blind contours sketch of scissors. Blind contour means you look only at the object and draw it without lifting your hand or breaking the line. I lifted the pen for the eyes of the handles and you can tell for sure. It is good practice for looking and drawing, but not a favorite practice technique for most of us. This took just a minute or two.

Number 2, upside down hat, in the same photo. An old fishing hat or soft sided hat here from the house with a little panda on the front. About 10 minutes.

Number 3, sphere. I found this little salt shaker on one of the shelves here in the house. Painted porcelain or pottery. Ten to fifteen minutes. I never look at a clock for sketching, just a guesstimate of time on all sketches.

Thankyou for your comments on my painting. Your drawing are very nice they remind me of Leonardos drawing. You draw very fast, I am a slow drawer and painter. I am looking for links, would you like a link?

Bye!

Nice pot pourri holder - I think that's what it is? Great practice and perseverance, Jo - keep up the good work!

Regina, thanks. I think you are right on the potpourri holder. I found another one hanging on a hook and they have something in them, dry stuff. Ha.
