I just made a big decision and decided not to take my computer. If I post, it is likely to be baseball and mostly photos.
For my art readers, I may get in a sketch or two. I can post from Gene's computer. Won't be reading many blogs and will be so far behind again. Oh well, that is the way I do things......
Yesterday morning I went into my studio to work on the commission. I hadn't been in there for a couple of days. I opened the blinds and there were flowers in my world. Shock!! We have let the yard run to oak trees and loblolly pines. Anything that blooms is on its own. These trees have been growing for about 5 years, they just showed up there, I think and this one is about 20 feet tall ??. They hadn't bloomed before. This view is out my studio window. I had to hold the camera right to the glass to avoid a reflection, so I couldn't really pick the focal point. They are beautiful, huh? We park almost under the tree so hadn't seen the blooms since they are on top. It was a shock as I had mentioned to Gene the day before that this type of tree was blooming in the area and ours never bloomed. Well, I was proven wrong. I suppose they just weren't mature enough.

I think that's a mimosa! I have not ever noticed that tree in the yard. How can that be? Heh.

Joanna, strange, we park right under it. I am sure that it has never bloomed before. They have really grown fast.

I have several of these trees outside my kitchen window as well. They also go by the name Persian Silk Tree (Albizia julibrissin)
Dan, hi! That is exactly what the tree is. You have some wonderful blogs and tree information. Evidently it is called mimosa as well. Two beautiful names. I just wonder how they got in our yard. No others very nearby. Hmmmmm. Thanks for commenting. I will put a link to you on my links page.
