Scavenger Sketches #87

Another slow art day. Sketching seems to perk up the interest. I have managed to sketch 4 more items for Scavenger Hunt #87. For new visitors to my blog, you can read and see a little more about why I sketch on this post. I have about 150 sketches in the categories on the sidebar. There are more sketches than that on my blog because the first few months of my blog I did not use categories. You can search in the search box at the top of the blog to find more. :)

Number 4, $23.50. About an hour in the NY Sketchbook with a regular Pilot ballpoint pen. This has been an interesting item. We have sketchers in a few countries other than the U.S. and ideas are different. I mentioned this and Gene went off to find an unusual way to show $23.50. He dug out some of his coins. He saves his change. There are some old silver dollars, too, but I have them somewhere?? Here are Sacagawea and Susan B. Anthony dollars, JFK half dollars, quarters from different states and old ones, dimes, nickels old and new (I didn't look for a buffalo in the pile) and old and new pennies. That was fun, thanks, Gene!

Number 5, something you drink. Pilot pen, 20 minutes in the same sketchbook. You know what I drink in the evenings. :)

Number 6, candy with open wrapper. Micron 005 about 15 - 20 minutes before I just had to eat the dark chocolate. Number 7, an eye. About 10 minutes with the Micron 005.

The commission I've been working on has been with the client for approval and was picked up today for a couple of small changes. I should finish it tomorrow and get it varnished and ready for delivery. After it is delivered I will post a photo of the painting. It is an acrylic painting of the entrance gate to their property.

fishing guy, Thank you. These were fun. Sometimes sketching is more like a chore.

Glad to see Gene was so helpful with the coins. That was good thinking to do stacks of them. Fun sketches!!

Joan, thank you. Gene thought it was fun as well. :)

I recognize that eye!

And, what's up with the wine glass that's not all wonky and lopsided? Those are some mighty fine ellipses you got going today.

Hi Joanna, I guess it is easier for you to recognize the eye than me. I never really look at one of my eyes like that. :) As far as the ellipses go, must have started before drinking the wine.

'Thing is: if I drew my eye, nobody would recognize it! Few would recognize it as an eye! Heh heh. :)

Ah, Joanna, you are so good with lines and perspective. That is all it takes. :)
