Making a Mark: 10 Tips for How to Sketch People

Katherine Tyrrell, my living, working encyclopedia on art, is working on an instruction manual/book for sketch artists. This is a great post to get you started if you don't already sketch people and some great reminders and ideas if you already sit in airports, hotels, restaurants, etc., with sketchbook in hand.

When you visit this blog of Katherine's you will find links and more blogs and more information than you can imagine. She has info on pastels, colored pencil, art history, art news, and sooooo much more. Just don't forget to come back here once in a while!

Thanks, Jo. I love Katherine's site, too. And thanks for the links you sent by email tonight. Maybe next year I'll have a self portrait worth entering. I do love the little 9x12 one... but it's not so darned creative as some of the current entries.
And how could we forget to come back here? It's cosy and supportive and full of life here. Mmmm You're the best.

Thank you, Susan. Does that make you second best? :)

Valerie, yes, Katherine gives such good advice. Her sketchbook journals/blogs have more info than I can ever absorb.
