Giving Your Blood

Donating BLOOD saves lives!

Think about donating. It is easy and painless (well, almost) and helps so many people. We donated today before the baseball game. (The Longhorns won. Joanna will write about it later.) It takes about an hour for me to give blood. Most people can be finished in about forty minutes. Gene donated platelets today, that takes one and a half to two hours.

I went and bought some glass for my pastel paintings at Hobby Lobby and came back to pick him up. Because we were going to Austin anyway, it did not cause us any inconvenience to stop by the Blood and Tissue Center.

Think about donating some blood. Local information is here. I'm sure you can "Google" your local location.

Yay for you Jo!
I'm a big supporter of donating blood. I think it's an awesome thing to do. :)

Jo - Good for you!! I donated platelets today!! They convinced me to try it, and today was my third donation. I'll have to figure out how to do both. They said I can if I figure out a good schedule so my iron doesn't get too low. I just wish the platelets went a bit faster. I was there for 3 hrs today.

Hi Jo,

Lately more campaings (sp?) have been made here in Portugal.
But people still didn't interiorize them
I believe that there's a lack of education in terms helping others.
People must stop thinking that helping is something that looks nice, to start thinking about it as an "obligation".
We don't know our situation tomorow and how much help we'll need.

Kind regards,

José

Hi José, helping others is part of the life here in the US. We still always need more, of course. I've always felt, like you say, that you never know when things can happen to you. You are very kind. See you. Thanks for coming by.:)
