UT Baseball Notes

Yesterday was another blustery baseball day. Brrrrrrrr. It was 59 again, but such a cold 59 degrees. The Longhorns played Stanford and won 5 - 2. Yes!

You can read the scoop on Joanna's page and see photos and the official version on the Longhorn Baseball Page.

There are many new things at the updated field. One is there are fireworks when the Longhorns win. You have to be fast or you miss them.
A shot of some of the warm up. You can see the new patio area and new bleacher/seats. All seats have backs, now.
This hospitality tent was up on the concourse on the left field side. I think it is for the Sunday game. It is a special day for the past championship teams. We should be able to see many of the players, some of whom are in the big leagues now. It should be warm and fun.

Today the Horns lost 6 - 5. Bummer. It was a good game. Back and forth, momentum changes as well. We needed one more inning. Hmmmm.

It was the largest crowd so far this year. 7,004 paid admission. Three photos when the Eyes of Texas was being sung. A great deal of folks had already exited. It is faster now with the extra gate on the left field side.

Jo: I'm jealous, it looks so beutiful at the stadium. 59 degrees sounds really warm right now.

fishing guy, Thanks. 59 degrees on the thermometer on the field means it is about 49 in the stands. :) We will be happy to stay here in the fifties than be with you in the snow. Pretty to LOOK at. :)

I feel like I was gone so long. I love the painting below by your granddaughter. The talent must run in the family. The weather has been wild. We had such strong wind and ran on Friday at the workshop in SC. I was happy to see we had good (but windy) weather for the long ride home.

Thanks, Joan. Christy is a winner. :) We missed you and the tidbit you posted from your class looked interesting. Will be waiting to hear more.
