Pastel Landscape WIP Water Canyon

I was going to paint a large painting for the Austin Pastel Society Annual Competition at the Corridor of Art. The board I was going to use warped, so I ordered a Pastelbord from Dick Blick. Pastelbord is a very durable and rigid pastel surface. It holds many layers of pastel and is washable. :)

I decided to practice in the meantime. This is not the idea for the large painting. That will have to wait, as now I may change my mind, I am not patient for waiting!

This is soft pastels on board with Colourfix ground. About 9 x 12 inches. This is Water Canyon near Magdalena, New Mexico.

I did an under painting with pastel and water. I see several things that need "fixing" (not Fixatif), correcting. I will make corrections and post the change. We shall see what you 'see' and if you agree with the changes. Comments appreciated. Corrected image later.....
