I hope everyone is having great holidays and Christmas will be very special. I especially wish the best to our troops overseas and away from home and family. Thank you for your service to our country and keeping us safe and free.
Please go read todays post by Fire and Ice. He is a Marine Corps artist. I wish him the best Christmas and New Year. Scroll down and read the poem about the night before Christmas and the music.
We will not get to see our former Marine for Christmas. David, Lisa and our favorite two grandchildren, Cole and Christy live in Kentucky. We hope they have a great time, too. Here is David and Lisa from just a few years ago. :) The rest of us along with Gene's brother, Roger, will be here in Texas, playing a little golf, eating lots of tamales and posole.
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

I don't know who those two people are that you put a picture of up but it doesn't look like Lisa and myself:) Where do you drag up those old pictures.
Anyway all kidding aside, Merry Christmas to you all and we are going to miss you guys for Christmas this year. We will also be eating a lot of tamales, chili rellenos (chili balls for Dad) and plenty of posole.
Merry Christmas
I was a little unsure of the identities myself. :) We will miss you guys, too, and will be thinking of you ... and calling I am sure.
Hugs,
Mom
Mom and her scary archive of photos! Merry Christmas to all. :)
Merry Christmas to you, too, Joanna. I'm digging in the photo files as we speak. Heh, heh.
Mom
We will do the tamales tonight along with some enchiladas and margaritas.
Thanks for posting the Fire and Ice link. I check on his blog often, but he has not posted lately. I'm glad you reminded me, although I got sidetracked by his art.
Merry Christmas.
Bag Blog, Tamales do seem to go with Christmas. :) The sculptures that Michael, Fire and Ice, are doing are just beautiful and so telling. Amazing artist.
We opened Christmas presents early this evening as Larry had to work tomorrow and Joanna went home for the night. It is quiet and peaceful.
Merry Christmas...
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!!
Jo, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. I visited the Marine Corps artist's website. What great work he's doing! That poem he posted was so touching.
Enjoy!!!
what a sweet couple
Valerie, we did have a great Christmas. Back to the two of us today and it is soooo quiet here.
Joan, Those Marine artists are great. I hadn't realized until sometime last year, I think, that the Marines still had artists. They are amazing.
Azul, thank you. They are pretty special.
