In Robert Genn's clickback for today, Street Art, I found a smile. The fifth comment down, Keeping Artists Humble, by Clarinel Stamos, Villa Park, CA, USA, was great!

When I'm asked how long it takes to paint a painting, I say, "Forty years and a couple of days." I have done some of the 30 minute paintings. They are great fun and make you think. I just don't use oils much anymore and it was more interesting to paint quickly with a huge brush and then take out your frustrations cleaning the brush. That is something Bob Ross taught me. :)

I hope if you clean your brushes like Bob Ross, you do it outside. Isn't he the one who pounded them on the side of the easel to get the liquid out? I loved the baby squirrels he kept in his pocket.
This is beautiful! But then, everything you do is wonderful.
Valerie, Thank you! This was done a few years ago out in front of the Guild gallery in Bastrop with a little kid saying, "Next she will put in a tree, next water, etc.". Fun day.

Jeanne, That is exactly who Bob Ross was. I use VHS tapes of his shows to fall asleep when I can't do so on my own. He had such a soothing voice. He used to say about the brush, "You just have to beat the devil out of it!"
Thanks for commenting.
