I sketched last night out on the deck for Scavenger Hunt 51. Lovely weather here in New Mexico. It was about 68 degrees or so.
Number 1, branch with leaves - a branch on the plum tree that hangs over the deck.
Number 2, outside light - a mosquito candle in a holder that friend, Charlie, made from a coffee can. Both sketches with the Micron 005 about 30-40 minutes in the NY sketchbook.
Today we were finishing a book on tape that we need to return to the library at home. While we listened in the living room I sketched. Had to take a few breaks to go check and see how Tiger Woods was doing in the PGA Championship. He is still ahead at the end of the day, missed another record by a stroke.
I sketched in the NY sketchbook with the Micron 005 pen, it is a very dark purple. A challenge to sketch some items in a grouping. Number 3, Straight backed chair - padded, number 4, Salt and Pepper shakers - brought with us, none here. You would have thought there would be some elephant ones. Number 5, skillet. Number 6, something you cook in a skillet - potatoes. Number 7, trivet. Number 8, slotted spoon - a wooden spoon. About 30 minutes.
Also sketched while listening to the book, Number 9, Pair of ........ - pair of weights. Number 10, Stack of ..... - Stack of hats. About 30 - 35 minutes with the Micron 005 in the same sketchbook.
Another challenge was to use color in as many sketches as possible, so I colored the sketches with colored pencil over the ink. Probably another 20 minutes or so for items 1 - 10.
The book was by Robert Ludlum, The Janson Directive . Like most of his books, the hero was a super hero who can perform any dangerous move while being hunted. Has anything he needs in his pocket or finds in the area. Everyone dies but the hero and his love interest. They are entertaining, guess that is why the Bourne books/movies are doing so well. We did finish and will get it in the mail on Monday.
No painting again today, maybe tomorrow. We played golf on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, so no painting those days either. Good days though, and you see my knee is almost well. I did not hit the driver and used Gene's drives and played from there, so that helped my score and distance. He hit his driver well. Thanks, Gene. We don't play on the weekends, too many people.
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

I got hooked on Robert Ludlum when I read Bourne Identity. I sure don't see how you keep track of it all on tape tho. His move so quickly and are so complex.
I read all of his books until his death. I haven't kept up with the ones that say his name and another name. He can't really write when dead. I don't know if he left the ideas and notes or what.
Jeanne, I know what you mean. This book was released after his death, too. They are fun on tape as they do go fast. We listen in the car usually on these long trips so the time flies. We have to get this one back to the library, so finished it in the house. :)
