For Scavenger Hunt 52: #3 Something you heard today, Rain. It rained pretty hard after I finished the sketch. About 1/2 inch. Smells so good. In the NY sketchbook with the green Micron 005 pen. About 5 or 10 minutes. I did this yesterday.It is raining again this afternoon. Rain in the mountains is so nice. It rains very hard, the sun comes out and dries it up and then it is cool. Hard to beat. In Bastrop it just gets humid and sticky after the rain in the summer. In the winter it stays cloudy and gloomy and pretty cold.
I worked on a tree painting, but not pleased with the color so will wipe it and do it again. After all, the idea is to practice and learn about trees.
I was reading my blogs and there is a post today by one of the pastel artists that is very good in painting trees with gesture and feeling. Go check out Paula Ford. She makes beautiful Tennessee mountain paintings. :) So I stayed around her blog and website and looked at her trees. I also looked at her postings on wetcanvas.com

Here is another great tree painter that I see on wetcanvas all the time. Tom Christopher. I love his loose style. Sigh.
