We had company and I didn't touch the computer for over 24 hours. Wow, a record I am sure. We played golf, went sight seeing and just talked. You have read about Gen and Charlie before in my blog. They are great friends of over 40 years. Such a great time. They are both artists. Charlie has done every art form there is .. I think. He is a guitar player, singer, story teller, sketcher, cartoonist, sculptor, etc. He has worked at many jobs as well: cowboy, construction, teaching, Navy veteran, trapping and hunting, horseman, etc. Gen has taken up drawing and painting just a few years ago, but has a great feel for design and color. Gene and Charlie can talk and tell stories until they are hoarse. Always one-upping the other. As you can see, a couple of days with them renews our energy and makes our hearts happy.
I did this sketch on July 24, the last day of Scavenger Hunt 48 and didn't get it posted. It is #10, fire hydrant. It is across the street and I sketched it from the front step while waiting for Gen and Charlie. It took about 15-20 minutes and is in my NY sketchbook with a Micron 05 pen in burnt umber.
I have a bum knee, pulled a ligament or muscle in the back of it, I think. I probably shouldn't have played golf, but what can I say. I have iced it and we will not play golf today. :) We will go down on the flats toward Deming for Gene to bike and I will sketch or paint while waiting for him, so more later......
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

Can you play golf "polo style" from the cart? I am sorry you are hurting.
Always good to hear of you visiting with Gen and Charlie.
That sounds pretty cool, maybe I can find a pony? We will try tomorrow without hitting the driver, the twisting hurts it.
Yes, we always have a good time with those folks. We have a good time with you, too!
Jo
Wow Jo. I don't know if I would survive 24 hours away from my computer.
Jeanne, I wasn't sure I could survive with no computer either. It was a shock. Ha.
