The last Sunday I painted at Peppers Gallery in Magdalena, I did this pastel of the window on the side of the gallery. It was nice and sunny, a little windy, but nothing like the Friday before when we had to quit painting. I painted it as a demo. Peppers was having open house and artists had booths out front. This is 9 x 12 inches on Art Spectrum pastel card. It was done in a couple of hours, on the spot. Plein air paintings have a spontaneity that comes from painting them in a short time without major corrections. You have to get it right the first time.
This painting has much more variation in color that what shows in the painting. It was great that the curtains have red peppers on them to compliment the red flowers on the window sill.
I'm putting a new page on my web site for these plein air paintings. They will be for sale, unframed for $100.00. Check my page if you are interested in the plein air paintings I did this summer. In the meantime you can send me an e-mail if you have questions or are interested in purchasing a painting.

This one is a real beauty Jo!
Thanks, Chuck. I think it always shows when you enjoy your subject and have fun painting. I always say about "painting on the street", that I'm not sure which I like more, the painting or the talking.
Chuck's right! I hope I get to see this in person over the weekend.
