This fellow showed up in our yard and Gene spotted him. Not great photos, but they aren't supposed to be here in central Texas. They belong in Nova Scotia and then on our west coast. Hmmm. Remember to click on the photos for larger image.
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

He is not a fellow, that is the biggest woodpecker I ever saw!
Heh, heh. What do you think? About 18 inches head to tail? He is very, very large.
Really? That big? 'Wish I'd seen him.
We haven't seen him again, but we don't have the water going. Maybe that would help.
