Acrylic Landscape, Eagle Nest Valley

I painted today for practice with those old acrylic paints. I spent about two hours working from a photo on my computer screen.

This is the photo I worked from:

And here is the painting:

Acrylic, 9 x 12 on watercolor paper

As in a lot of your paintings Jo, a relatively small format (at least by my standards, tee hee) and yet you give that wonderful spacious feeling to the landscape. Love it!

Joanna, thank you!

Thanks, Rae. I need to get out the pastels and see how that goes. Don't know if I have enough greens. Ha.

You did a good job... the painting looks far better than the original.... a mark of a true artist!

Teresa, thanks so much. Double trouble .. so much green and working with acrylics. :)

I love your landscape. You see paintings in ways that I don't - I envy that in you.

Bag Blog, thank you. I hope after this practice I can get down a couple of good paintings from here. It is so beautiful, but hard to narrow it down to a canvas. Lots of green!
