Day Out Sketches

For my day out I went to Walmart and then the food court in downtown Bastrop. I sketched a couple of items for the Hunt.   I ate a Gordita at Tacos El Fercho.  https://www.chestnutgroveftc.com/food-vendors It is pretty good.  The crepe place has some great sounding lunch crepes with shrimp and other non traditional fillings, but I didn't need to eat the gluten in the crepes.  A little gluten is OK but I try to avoid it if I can.  I also drank a Mexican Coca Cola which is with sugar so that was my dessert treat.  Ha.

I sketched quickly as I had a little less time.  I sketched in the small Canson travel sketchbook with Uhuhu pens.  I added colored pencil here at home.  On the way home I stopped at the pavilion on the other side of our lakes and sketched the almost dry lake.  Can barely call it a pond now.  There is a small pool to the left of my sketch and the rest is dirt and new vegetation.  The caretaker mowed a bunch of the big bushy stuff down a month or so ago.  Some is back or it was too wet there to get it when he mowed.

Number 2 pair - a couple of guys eating their food from the same trailer.

Number 3 door - across the street from the food court.  Already up with Christmas decorations.  I think it is a wine bar now.  They left the old sign that is painted on the bricks.  Guess I should have walked across the street!

Number 4 free space - the house and dry lake.
