Inktober Begins

Inktober is here.  Artists do sketches in ink from a list of prompts.  I sketch in ink usually so not too hard for me, just following the prompts.  You don’t have to follow the prompts but I like to do that.  I’m sketching with Mary, niece in Albuquerque.  Always fun to sketch with someone else and Mary is great.  She sketches with an ink app on her phone, not sure which one she uses.

I sketched in the Ohuhu Mix Media sketchbook because I was adding color.  That sketchbook has smooth paper for the pens but takes water for the Inktense pencils that you add water like watercolor.  The first prompt for Inktober 2024 was backpack.  I forgot I even have a backpack.  It is electric orange and the only color ink was the Inkternse pencils in yellow and  red so my orange is a bit blah.

For Inktober 2024 and also Scavenger Hunt from Life.

Inktober 2024 Number 1 - backpack

Scavenger Hunt from Life 131 Number 10 - manmade, the backpack.

After posting I remembered I have some Daler-Rowney acrylic ink in bright colors.  I added some more color.  It didn’t show in the scan so took a photo.  It is almost orange now, not as bright as in real life.

Oh, well, it is what it is.

I'm glad to see you are participating. I'm not sure if I will take part this year...maybe. lol Nice job on the orange backpack. I should sketch mine now since it isn't sitting too far from me right now. lol

Ha, Joan. Hard to move to sketch sometimes! Thanks for stopping in when you are so busy. I'm trying to do the Inktober every day. We will see how it goes.
