I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States.
This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.
Ai and Joan paint direct watercolor often in our Scavenger Hunt sketches. They are so good at it. It means to paint in watercolor without drawing first in pencil or ink. I chose an easy subject. They do fences, windows, dishes, etc. In a landscape the shapes aren't quite as important.
Number 4, allergy causing - cedar trees out my studio window. Done in the Canson Mixed Media large sketchbook, half page under the coffee painting. Painted with an angled brush and watercolor.
Some wrinkled paper shadows on the left.
I didn't spend to long on this. I see after the fact that I should have put in more limbs to start with as the cedar branches are pretty light colored. A gel pen might have worked but I wanted just watercolor.
More practice required.

Thanks, Joan. Coming from you compliments mean a lot. I need to try a more difficult subject. Evil grin.
