I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States.
This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.
I walked down to the westerly bench to sketch in the shade while Gene was on his trike. I sketched with a Sharpie fine line pen and watercolor. I didn't finish, so did so on the porch. It was getting pretty hot.
Number 2 free space - the view toward the fire station behind the trees. The water is super low, we need more rain.
Number 3 large or lovely - it is both: large trees and lovely view. The little pine trees are growing in the flats where the water has dried up. Maybe they will be transplanted before the water rises again. They will drown if not.
The College World Series Finals are in full swing. Game one last night was won by the Texas Aggies 9-5 over the Tennessee Volunteers. The games over all have been close and good. Game 2 is today at 1:00 p.m. Central Time. It is the best 2 of 3 games. Our niece is in Tennessee so we are rooting for the Vols since our Longhorns didn't make it. Go Vols!

Both of these are lovely sketches of the views. I hope the trees get transplanted before the water rises. It has been warm here too. I went out early yesterday and today to paint my direct watercolors. Then I spent the rest of the day pretty much in the pool in our development.
I Grew up in a small town , Magdalena, New Mexico. I enjoy art and the pleasure other people get from my work. I always donate some of my sales and art to charities, especially for children. That started in Bolivia with Para los Niños.

Joan, thank you. You inspire outdoor watercolor work! Nice you can take in the pool.
So beautiful.
