I hosted the water color challenge for March on creativespark.art. I took on the challenge of trying watercolor with some people/figures in it. More than I could chew as a watercolor painting. I sketched quickly with a Sharpie pen and then just colored it in with the watercolors. It was almost fun to try the background and firemen. I left out a lot and realized at the end I had left the ladders off the back.
This is in the big Canson mix media sketchbook with the Sharpie Pen and various watercolors.
The photo I used was from several years ago. The firemen were practicing something in the ponds. I posted about it here:

The fire department were so nice to our great grandsons so thought they would like to see this, too.
It was son, David's, birthday today. Happy Birthday David!
It is my painting buddy, Lou's birthday tomorrow. If she sees this, Happy Birthday, Bag Blog! She's been busy making pottery and having shows so no time for blogging. Hope to see them soon.

I like paintings of firetrucks. They have so much interesting "stuff" on them. Nicely done! Happy Birthday to David and to Lou!!!
Thanks, Joan. You know I like red!! I'll pass on your wishes to the birthday bunch.
Such a colorful painting of the firetruck and firemen. Great job Jo. I would not have missed the ladders if you hadn't told me they were missing. :)! Hugs
Debbie, thanks. We are told to leave out things in paintings to simplify. Maybe I did it subconsciously. Ha.
Very. Nice!
Hi ashok, thank you. I have trouble commenting on your blog and have to change browsers so appreciate that you come by here. Your photos are amazing.
