I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States.
This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.
Number 1 something with a pattern - Navajo rug over the back of a rocking chair
Number 2 something with one wheel - pizza cutter For Scavenger Hunt from Life 90
Both of these sketches are on the page in the Strathmore sketchbook with the outdoor sketch from the last post. I used the same dual tipped pens: Piochoo and Wexford. There is a little bit of Gelly Roll white on the Pizza cutter on the handle to add a bit of hatching on the white highlight which I just left white and on the wheel.
The pens are interesting to use. You can't really blend the colors. They also bleed through regular paper so need to be used on watercolor or mix media paper.
These were sketched on Friday. We planned to go to The Bugle Boy to see Susan Gibson, but we ended up staying home and streaming the show. Susan always puts on a great show, go see her if you get a chance. https://www.susangibson.com/about
As promised, here are the turtles and egret. Now you see why in my sketch they look like blobs or humps. There were so many we couldn't count them.
This is our house from the little bridge. You can see the screened in porch to the left where we sit in the morning. The bay windows from the dining room and then the other porch. The tallest pine is dead and we need to get it taken down. Hopefully we can get it done before it falls on the sheds or into our neighbors yard. You can see the weather is so nice right now. Gene rode his trike on Saturday.

Joan, thanks. This blanket is not as old as some we have so the blue is a modern addition, like 40 years ago. Ha. We have sure enjoyed this house. It has been perfect for us.
I Grew up in a small town , Magdalena, New Mexico. I enjoy art and the pleasure other people get from my work. I always donate some of my sales and art to charities, especially for children. That started in Bolivia with Para los Niños.

You captured the pattern of the Navajo blanket nicely...such a colorful pattern. Nice photos. It is good to get a view of the house too.
