Hunting Fabric and Round

As you know, I really have to Hunt to find items I haven't sketched.  I don't think I ever sketched this apron, but do know I've sketched the lid for the coffee cup.  Bag Blog (Lou) made me the cup with lid to keep my coffee warm.  It is a favorite mug.

Number 6 made of fabric - dark Blue apron with yellow sunflowers
Number 7 round - ceramic lid for coffee cup

We have lived in our house for 12 years now and we are running into aging appliances, etc.  We had the company come out to do the 2 year check up on our water softener.  It was fine but the hot water heater had a broken spout for the drain for the annual flushing so that was repaired.  Our Expedition passed 100,000 miles and we had it tuned up.  Joanna came out and was our taxi to pick up the car.  So almost $1000 yesterday just to maintain.  I cannot imagine how it is to be a young couple with kids trying to buy a home, cars, car seats and other items for home and children. And still put the high priced food on the table.  Yikes!!

Nice sketch of the apron and lid to the mug.

What happened that appliances and things don't last very long. I think my grandmother's old fridge would probably still be running if someone had kept it. Things lasted in those days. We live in a very disposable society with things (computers, phones, etc) that are obsolete in a few years!

Joan, the sketch looks better to me in real life. A bit weird with no table under it. Thanks. We had a fridge when we moved to Albuquerque in the mid 60s that was from the 50s with the little 2 ice tray freezer compartment. We used it for 5 years and Gene's brother took it and used it outside for beer for at least 20 more years. Besides things breaking now, they have computers or such in them and you can't fix them. Our society is definitely disposable.
