iPad and Ink Sketches

I did a quick sketch on my iPad while we were on the porch this morning.  It is not my favorite way to sketch.  Any practice opens up my brain I think.  A different medium makes me think instead of sketching from habit.  For digital sketching I have to relearn how to use the app because I don't use it that often.  Any art for me is good art.  I'm smiling.

Number 1, foot - Gene's foot done quickly with Brushes on my iPad.

I wrote the above on Tuesday and never finished.  Sigh.

Today I sketched on the porch before I start to work on a pastel.  Yes, really.

This page of  sketches is in the ArtSteet sketchbook, 9 x 12 inches, with a Micron 03.

Numbers 4, 5 and 6 - three types of lighting.  The outdoor lights, ceiling fan/light and the sconce on the brick wall.

I posted the #2 and #3 sketches before I put these up.  I will blame it on the foggy brain from the anesthesia for my sinus treatment.

UT Baseball is having fall workouts, they call it Fall World Series.  You can go to the games today, tomorrow and Sunday.  Maybe we will go for a while on Sunday since it is in the afternoon.  Always fun to see the new players and be at the Disch. (UFCU Disch Falk Field)   https://texassports.com/sports/baseball

I ran across this pastel painting by Picasso of his mother that he did.  It is just beautiful.  One of the blogs I read posted the link and I'm sorry not to be able to say who it was.

I saw some of his other sketches and early work at an exhibit in Ft. Worth years ago.  He was very good at drawing.  Van Gogh was as well.  I'm sure you can find examples on line.

Joanna is helping me research to get a new computer.  I am very frustrated with my email and Telegram that we use for texting in the family and friends. Neither one is working on my old iMac and I have to go back and forth from my phone.  It looks to me like the new iMac will copy and paste from the phone and I will be able to drop photos without using email.  I will be able to talk on the phone from my computer.  The problem with that is that I will probably need a new phone as well, right?  I will have to learn some new apps and update what I use now.  I'm not excited as I am not good with change at my age.

Speaking of that, we went to HEB, our grocery store, yesterday.  They are re-arranging the aisles and making more space by taking out little used shelves.  Anyway it took me a ridiculous amount of time to shop.  The app for aisle location of items hasn't caught up with the remodeling.  It took me about half an hour to find about 20 things that we buy all the time.  They have moved and are moving the bread, sodas, snacks and so much more!  Will they be done by Thanksgiving?  I hope so.

Did I mention, I don't like change?

Great foot and assorted lighting.

Good luck with your computer search. At least you have Joanna to help and sort out problems...well, not really problems but changes when you try to do things on the new computer. When I got my new iPad I couldn't get my gmail account to work on it. I ended up having to sign into it all over, and of course I couldn't remember the password because it always worked automatically. I think they do this to drive us crazy. lol I don't like change either.

Thank you, Joan. Yep, good to have Joanna. I'm having lots of issues and cannot upgrade my computer so the new email and other apps, some browsers won't work anymore. Very irritating. I will get something soon. :-)
