Does sketching feel like homework? Sometimes it does for me. I felt obligated to do a sketch today and it was so nice on the porch. It was just 75 degrees F about 8:00 a.m.
I got out the 9 x 12 Canson regular sketchbook and some Micron assorted pens for a bit of color.
Number 9, square - puzzle box. Joanna gave me the puzzle for Mother's Day and I have yet to put it together. The pieces are all odd shapes with no real edges. I started it but had to put it away. I should have done it on a piece of foam core or something so I wouldn't have had to put it back in the box. It is wooden and has small pieces of all shapes. Some shaped like animals. Very interesting.
Number 8, oval - well oval-ish, a bowl from the Empty bowl projects in red, white and blue.

Yesterday we went to pick up Gene's new glasses, they seem to be helpful for him. On the way home we stopped at the 290 Cafe in Manor for pie and coffee. It seemed a good idea to find a triangle and pie was the solution.
Number 7 triangle - blueberry cheesecake (Gene had pecan pie.)
These pretty willow blossoms were outside the eye doctor's office. Maybe I will try some with my new pink watercolors.

can't go wrong with pie 😀
Jennifer Rose, exactly! Nice to "see" you. I liked that horse you were working on. You had only the eye done. Fascinating.
Guess you know Duane Keiser's painting pistachio ?

Triangle pie sounds right up my alley. Last week I bought a new pencil to encourage me to sketch more. Maybe this week, I will get it out of its package.
I smiled when I read that the sketch was of blueberry cheesecake. I saw it on creativespark.art and thought it was cheesecake, not pie!!! Glad to hear that Gene's new glasses are helping him.
Joan, good catch! I meant to say it was cheesecake. Sigh.... I think the pecan pie was better but the cheesecake was so pretty!
René, thanks. I do know Duane Keiser's paintings. The videos are so much fun. I hadn't seen the pistachio. He has one where he pours a glass of wine and then it goes away. Also an egg that opens and then goes back as I recall.
Thanks for reminding me! The cheesecake would be very pretty in color.
bag blog, you made me laugh out loud. I've already misplaced the new Sharpie pen. :-( Gene says, Yes you are sisters. Ha.
