Two of my artist friends on the Scavenger Hunts are doing a project of 30 direct watercolors in 30 days. I decided to try one in their honor. My contribution is a landscape with just a few items. They do urban landscapes with people, buildings, trees, still life and more. My sketch is very simple in comparison.
Number 1, something natural - the view from the porch in direct watercolor using waterbrushes in a Canson Watercolor Sketchbook, 9 x 12 inches. Painted directly with no pencil or pen drawing.

Joan Tavolott sketches almost every day. She does still life but mostly she goes out to sketch and paint. She loves the beach and water so does that. She sketches local businesses inside and out, statues, houses, boats, people and what they are doing. Amazing. She has traveled and sketches with several art groups and does so much. Joan is doing the 30 paintings in 30 days, direct watercolor. Whew!!

Ai is in Thailand. She sketches daily and travels with art groups and on her own. She is a professor at the university and art is her hobby. She doesn't post much on her blog, but you can see some of her work there.
And of course you can see their work on the Scavenger Hunts.

Thanks for providing a link to my blog. The 30 day challenge is nearly over. It has been keeping me away from the scavenger hunts. In fact I didn't get the new list yet! I'll have to go do that now.
Nice of you to join us with a watercolor sketch!
Joan, thanks for stopping by again. You stay so busy. Your direct watercolors have been amazing. Inspired me!
only going to do one?
Ha, Jennifer Rose. Eventually I will do more. Watercolor is not easy and you need to watch paint dry!
