My sketches today were birthday cards which I won't post here until they are received. In the meantime we can talk watercolors.
I've been using waterbrushes mostly as they are so convenient.
This is the set I have been using. You can see which one I have used
the most. I've had these a few years and they do not leak and have
been quite durable. You wipe them on a paper towel between colors.
I have been using a Canson Watercolor Sketchbook, 9 x 12 inches, Premium Watercolor Pad, a sketchbook I bought from an artist in Michigan and Canson Mix Media sketchbooks. I have some other supplies as well like post cards and assorted papers.
Some of the other supplies I use:
I use the water tight carrier, brushes in a bamboo holder and a couple of different small palettes that fit in my purse.
The brushes open (Joanna gave me these years ago). Some of the watercolor paints I use and the airtight palette open. Also a water sprayer and masking fluid.
I also have watercolor pencils and watercolor markers. All are fun to use and give different results.

I painted these hollyhocks back in 2003, so they haven't been on the blog.
This is a Micron pen and watercolor sketch in Bastrop. I like the results of ink and watercolor together.

More of the same in Bastrop. When I do this type sketch, I usually do the sketch in ink first and then add the watercolor.
We haven't been out as a group sketching in a long time. We were a group this day in Bastrop.
Watercolor done at the Art Center when it was too cold to get out with the Plein Air sketch/paint group.
Maybe one day I will be more proficient in the use of watercolor. I do enjoy it more now, not such a chore after some years of practice. The problem is that it is so far in between practice sessions that I have to learn all over again.
That is a reminder to keep in practice and paint and sketch daily.

I haven't see that set of waterbrushes. I pretty much gave up using waterbrushes. I could never get enough pigments to be happy...just too much water. I much prefer a regular brush. A lot of my recent wc sketches were done in a Canson XL Mix Media sketchbook. Not sure I'm 100% happy with the paper. I may switch to the watercolor one. Good to see your supplies and samples of your watercolor work.
I think you are getting quite proficient at your watercolors. I mostly use my watercolor brush set like yours when I travel. They are convenient. I also like the Canson watercolor paper for certain things, although I have bought some that had some sort of waxy feel and made watercolor difficult.

Bag Blog, thanks. I've not practiced enough to know which paper is best for what. I do like the Canson Mix Media for sketching and it takes some water. Smooth paper for my ink pens. I like watercolor and ink.
Joan, thank you. The watercolor sketchbook by Canson is pretty good. Like I say, not proficient enough to have favorites.
Jennifer Rose, I probably should practice more with regular brushes, so far the waterbrushes do what I ask ... well for the most part.
