Scavenger Hunt Fruit - Guess Which One?

As you might guess with the prompt of fruit on the Scavenger Hunt I might choose apples.  I was going to paint them in pastels but didn't want to get out the paper, etc.  The lazy one of me, or my bad attitude.  Reminds me of the Carper Family song, Bad Attitude.  You can check it out on Youtube.  I have linked to it before.  Fits me well today.

Back to the apples.  I decided the easiest way was to sketch in the Canson Watercolor sketchbook with a waterbrush.  You know me, though, not enough practice in watercolor and can't get used to blurry edges all around so added a light touch of Micron 02.

Number 2, fruit - apples
Number 3, rectangle - cutting board

I didn't think of counting the cutting board as an item until I finished resizing the photo.  Then I saw the rectangle.

Maybe with more practice I will figure out how to be happy with the edges.  I got hard edges on the apple without ink.  Maybe if I had put in a background color, I could have defined the edges of the board and knife without ink.  Hmmmm.  I'm pretty satisfied with the apple colors.  Messed up the white on the handle of the knife.  The blade of the knife is red but I thought that was too much in this still life.

The Austin Pastel Meeting is on Zoom today.  Our internet is bad for streaming today.  Guess the cold weather didn't help and people are home using up "our" data.  Grumble.  Maybe I can watch the demo on another day early in the morning.

I'm off to watch the baseball game.  My bad attitude about the weather prevented me from going to the game.  I just didn't want to get ready to go and bundle up.  Gene didn't want to go either.  Maybe he will ride his trike, though.   It is 60 degrees now but in the shade in the stands it is cold.  The Horns are playing Alabama.  They won the first two games in close matches.  1-0 and 2-0  Maybe today the bats with be more active.  Pitchers duels are fun but it is nice to see some hitting as well.  Hook 'em Horns!

I like your apples - you did well with the color blend. After the freezing temps last week, it warmed up to be in the 70s this week. Maybe spring is here.

Bag Blog, thank you. We still need to get together to unfreeze and paint with watercolors and pastels. ....One of these days.

Jennifer Rose, thank you. With my procrastination tendency bad days can string out. Have to watch it. Ha.

Joan, thank you so much. The weather is crazy, winter doesn't want to stay away. The games have been good. The Longhorns are number 1 right now in the NCAA. Makes us nervous. Heh, heh.
