Buckle Up

When I see the word buckle, the first thing that comes to mind is to "Buckle up for Safety."  I'm just brainwashed, right?  I don't think they have used that saying for years.  Hmmm.

I got out the big book and a Micron 02 for my sketch.  I had to look for a belt that had a buckle.  We don't have any "western" buckles anymore.  Gene's leather belt has a leather covered buckle.  And I found some jeans with belt loops and pockets for another of the items.

Number 6, buckle

There is a vine growing on the fence between our house and the house next door.  It is the neighbors vine on their side of the fence but hangs over like a hedge.   In general, it is like a fence to me and I just ignore it.  Yesterday I noticed it has some pink flowers.  I hadn't seen them before in other summers (of course were weren't here in other summers).  So I went to look.  Turns out there are some sort of berries on the vine.  They have the darker more variegated leaves.  The flowers and brighter large leaves are wild Morning Glories ... not part of the vines at all.  Strange.

I didn't finish the painting .. it needs to sit a while longer.

A friend of mine posted a picture of her fence down in the Houston area with these flowers. It looked really paintable. I tried it, but it looked ridiculous. Maybe I will try it again sometime.

Bag Blog, they do look pretty. Bell like flowers are hard to paint small when you can't see any of the connections to the plant.
