As the old saying goes, "The faster I go, the behinder I get." That seems to be Gene and I. I imagine it is age but we don't think old in our heads. We are much slower at what we do. I went to post this and realized I hadn't finished posting sketches from the last Hunt.
I sketched at Jennie's and Brandon's where we baby sat the house and the grand-dogs. Guess the dogs should really come first. It was a different weekend at least. We ate lunch on Saturday in Manor, Texas, at Maxine's Gumbo House. http://gumbotexas.com/ It was very good and of course, not crowded. We did go about 230 in the afternoon, so that helped. We tried the Crawfish Étouffée, Gumbo, Red Beans and Rice, and Jambalaya. All were good. They also serve wine and beer which we enjoy.
Brandon has roots in New Orleans. He usually has a crawfish boil for his birthday. I drew this card for him a couple of years ago and didn't ever post it.
Scavenger Hunt 655 Number 3, tree - not sure what this tree is, but it has many more leaves and is about 15 feet or more tall. May be a red bud tree??? Same tools for sketching.

The crab boil looks so yummy. I haven't had any crawfish etouffee in eons! That was my favorite thing to eat in New Orleans. Fun sketch of the doggie. Sounds like you had a good trip.
Joan, thank you so much. Our trip to Jennie's is only an hour away, but so different to be in the "city" and with the dogs. It was a good change.
