Jackrabbit Hunt

We don't see many jackrabbits in this part of the world.  So for Scavenger Hunt 587
http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1465842
I sketched Gene's March Hare which was an early Easter gift for him.  It is brown and white, very soft and hug-able.  Gene always gives me stuffed animals so I beat him to it.  He gave me the little yellow jumping chick that I sketched the other day.

Number 5, jackrabbit - substitute a stuffed rabbit

By the way, on the Scavenger Hunts you can sketch in any medium.  I do all sorts, pastels, ink, digital on my iPhone or iPad, colored pencil, watercolor, etc.  Come join us, it is lots of fun.  I have sketching friends around the world now.

I know your sketch put a smile on Gene's face - the March Hare is so cute.
This season our south Florida neighborhood seems to have an abundance of bunnies. We have seen a very small one on our front lawn the last three evenings - only one and no adult? We have seen all sizes as we take our late day walks. You make sketching fun!

Rosemary, thanks so much. We haven't had many bunnies in the yard, we saw one this morning. Maybe it has been too rainy?? The March Hare is really cute and soft. It is fun to have something new to sketch.

You showed his softness nicely! The only time I actually saw a jackrabbit it nearly scared me to death. It came out of nowhere on a dark road and just ran across.

Thank you, Joan. We have seen more jackrabbits in New Mexico. Maybe they are dry land bunnies. They are much bigger than the bunnies we see around our house. They don't look as fluffy either.
