Artists can substitute items if you don't have the required item.  Like "beach" for me.  We do live by a couple of ponds, but no beach here!  I could walk to the ponds and use the edge of the water.  I doubt I will get that done by Friday.  We have baseball tonight and Friday night and Gene has a doctor's appointment on Friday morning.  We went grocery shopping today, which is a beautiful day to be outside.  Gene rode his trike.  We had to wear extra clothing to the game last night it was so cold and today it is about 75.  Next week we will be in the 40s again.  But, I regress.....

Back to sketching, I sketched in the big book this morning with the Pilot ink pen.  Directly and quickly.  I chose the first item on the list and drew my "pets",  the stuffed animals given to me by Gene.  Well, a few of them.  These sit on the shelf under my work table behind me when I'm at the computer.  The elephant which you can't really see is holding the two rabbits.  It is a childhood toy.

Number 7, pet companions

The elephant was a gift my brother, Tommy, gave to a high school girlfriend and she gave it back when they broke up.  It was mine after that, so it is somewhere in the area of 70 years old.  Yikes!

Memories, memories......

It should have been plein air day today ... hmmmm.  I didn't receive notice, maybe they made a plan last week and I missed it.

Love the sketch of all your pet companions!! How great that you still have the elephant and it is so old. That makes me smile that you have such a treasure!

Hi Joan, thanks. My sister had it with my mother's things or it would have burned. The rest are newish. It is hard to realize the fire was in 2011. Seems both recent and ages ago, like when you get home from traveling. :-)

they count as pets :D

Jennifer Rose, yep, they are pets or at least as close as we get to having pets. Once in a while the grand-dogs visit. I sketch them when they are here and animal is on the list. :-) Thanks for stopping by.

I like your sketch. It reminds me of one of Titus' sketches. I buy him little cheap sketch books from Walmart. He fills them up with drawings and he is amazing. He just turned six in December. I will email you one of his sketches.

Titus' sketches are amazing. He is soooo good. Imagine how good he will be at my age. He will be famous. Thanks.
