Behinder I Get

Lewis Carroll said, "The hurrier I go, the behinder I get."  That seems to be the story of my life lately.  We rarely have schedules.  Gene used to be a great person about being on time.  He made lists and used them, set alarms and used them, etc.  Now we only seem to have good intentions.  I thought I had posted these last sketches.

For Scavenger Hunt 562, number 4, seasonal - a scarecrow at the doctor's office the other day.  On my iPhone with my fingers and the app, Brushes.  Didn't get to finish the table it was sitting on or the real pumpkin beside him.

#1, weed or dandelion - from the front of the house, hand or nose a day challenge
#2, fern or plant - Christmas cactus

Gene is going to have DBS, deep brain stimulation, surgery in a few weeks.  Tomorrow is his MRI where he has to be asleep.  We have been doing paperwork, etc.  We have intended to make living wills for ages and finally got that done in the past few days.  Maybe then we will get back on our more or less schedule.  Don't hold your breath, however.

I've been following Joshemari Larrañaga watercolor sketches for sometime.  He is a super sketcher.  He has some photos of himself on this post.  He is exactly what a plein air artist should look like, don't you think?

I also voted and got a sticker for my sketchbook.  :-)

Hope all goes well for Gene. Will be thinking about you both. As long as you get the important stuff done, the rest doesn't matter! And spending time together, enjoying the moment is the most important!

Hey, Rose. Thank you so much. You know what is important, to us, too. The DBS has great reviews as do the doctors that will be doing it. You make me smile.

Toby and I have been late lots lately. I blame him - ha! The DBS sounds serious. And I would think that Gene's brain is pretty deep. May it all go accordingly.

I sure am missing you. It would be nice to visit and paint.

Bag Blog, Thanks. Gene told the surgeon and the neurosurgeon that they would be famous. They would open his head and there would be nothing in there.
It would be good to get together. Maybe after the first of the year we can meet halfway or something.
