The morning weather was perfect for sitting on the porch with coffee, loaded rice cake and sketching. It was about 74º and cloudy.
Scavenger Hunt 548 called so hunted up some items and got to work with the Millennium 05 pens in the big sketchbook before packing it.

Number 5, corner - the corner of the porch above Gene. Kind of confusing, the screen on the left and glass window with reflections. The bricks don't look like bricks. Color next time may be the answer.
Number 6, nature - out toward the eastern lake
Most of my art stuff is packed. I'm not sure why we take so much stuff. Guess just because we can. Ha.
Add my iMac, printer and big paper cutter to the mix. You never know what we will need if I really paint. May get in a show...... The boxes have frames, Pastelbord, paper, watercolor stuff, who knows?
I'm still wondering about painting so long in the sun. I checked the weather report on Google and we may not have a great deal of sun!!
It will be cool anyway........
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

LOL When you travel by car it makes it so easy to take so much more than you really need. I'll be flying again and trying to pare my supplies down to a minimum so maybe I can do a carry-on and not check luggage. :)
Joan, I chuckled. I know you are a super painter and now a super packer if you can pare down to a carry on!
When I go away I never take any supplies with me....I guess I'm lazy...lol) but then I regret it it but I take plenty of reference photos...nice sketches Jo! Enjoy your time away!!!!
hmuxo, I always take way more than I use. I usually do a few pastels and sketch. I take acrylics, oils, watercolors, colored pencil and whatever I see. Canvas, panels, paper, etc. Then I think, "I'm on vacation" and there I go procrastinating.
My friend, Joe, in Florida remarked this morning, "Does Blick send you birthday presents?" I'm just spoiled, right?
Hi Jo! Sorry it's been awhile since I stopped by. I always very much enjoy your blog when I visit. This time, I got captivated by your quick reference to packing and wondered just where you are going and what you plan when you go. So, after much scrolling down, I found my answer on about June 5's post or so.
I do remember (now that I've been reminded :>) that you go to New Mexico in the summer. Sounds beautiful and refreshing and hope you have a wonderful time. Also discovered that you are braving a paint out while you are there--best of luck with that. Bon voyage!
I saw so many charming sketches while I scrolled down that I can't comment on all my favs, but somehow, it was your vivid sketches of a horse and cow that I most remember. Excellent.
Mary, thanks so much. Checking on everyone is hard to keep up with. Love it when you stop by. Yes, New Mexico is where we were raised and it is good to get back to the mountains and be cool.
My sketches seem to be what's kept me in the artsy world. Hopefully my painting will get jump-started again. Hope my readers will go look at the beautiful scarves you have been making. Luscious....
Thanks again...
you do know there are probably art stores on the way right? ;)
grrr 1st comment got deleted :/
Jennifer Rose, ha! In truth there are many miles but few art stores. A couple of small Hobby Lobbys and some in Albuquerque. Not easy shopping on Sunday and pulling a trailer.
My little car is packed with art stuff. We could open an art store!
Lou (Bag Blog) you gave me an idea. I could sell all my stuff for double the price and pay for part of the trip! See ya later!
