Artsy Baseball

It is the Austin Regionals for UT Baseball double elimination tournament.  The teams are the Longhorns, Indiana Hoosiers, Texas Aggies, and Texas Southern Tigers.  Friday the Aggies won over the Hoosiers and Texas won over Texas Southern.  Yesterday the the Hoosiers sent Texas Southern home and the Longhorns beat the Aggies.  Today at 2:00 p.m. the Aggies play the Hoosiers.  The winner plays the Longhorns at 8:00 p.m.  If the Longhorns win, they will go to Oxford, Mississippi, for the Super Regionals next weekend.  If the other team beats the Longhorns, they will each have one loss and there will be another game tomorrow.  The Horns need to win tonight!  Hook 'em Horns!

We went to Oxford, to Ole Miss, for a Super Regional a few years ago.  It is a beautiful spot and we had a great time.  If the Horns win, who knows if we will go?   I did make some hotel reservations just in case.  Smiling.

I parked in the new garage for the games.   Joanna was at the first game with me and then went to The Bugle Boy in the evening.  Ellie came and we went to the second game with Texas vs the Aggies.  There was about one and a half hours between games.  I sat in the garage on a folding camp chair and had a frozen lemonade and relaxed for a while checking phone messages, etc.  I sketched the tailgaters across the street outside the fence.

Number 1, outside seating

It was 100 degrees F on the gage most of the day.  Luckily our seats are in the shade and there was a good breeze most of the time.  The garage is open and has a breeze, too.  Nice and clean since it is new.   One of the food trucks you can see inside the field is Juana Taco and the sign on the front says "Wanna taco?"  We haven't tried them.  Another said something about ranchhands but seems it is a veggie healthy food truck so maybe the ranch comes from ranch dressing instead of ranches with cattle.  Interesting website:  https://www.weareranchhand.com/  It says "Stop Eating Shit for Lunch".  Saw several folks with the bowls, looked good!  So the dishes do come with meat and chicken it looks like.  Certainly doesn't look like ranch food that I grew up on.

We will probably go out away from the field for food in between the games so sketching today is unlikely!
