Scavenger Hunt 514 Pastel Sketch

Another beautiful morning.  Must have  been about 62 degrees F.  I had my plein air easel on the porch from the other day so decided to do a pastel sketch.  The list was provided by EyePaint, EP.  Her last list everything started with E so on this list all twenty-six items start with P.

The sketch took about 30-40 minutes on gray Canson paper, rough side.  I should have used the smoother side to have less grid marks on the smooth items, but you know me, too lazy to turn it over.

Number 1, peeler
Number 2, peas
Number 3, powder - powdered sugar
Number 4, pitcher

We went for a walk after to the fire station and back.  About 30 minutes.  Getting warm by then.  It was supposed to be in the mid 80s this week and has been over 90 every day.  Fall in central Texas.  The last Hunt had fall leaves on the list.  None in our world!  Everything is still mostly green.

We are great grandparents again as of yesterday!  Yay!  Granddaughter and baby boy doing fine in Kentucky.

Barbara, nice to see you. I haven't watched Susan's last painting sessions. Our internet isn't good enough. She has a big weekend with Carol Marine, I guess. Have you been to one of Susan's classes? Thanks for stopping in.

Congrats on the new great-grandson.

Sometimes the rough side of the canson type paper is good - sometimes not. For the sketches, it is not bad. I am so glad for sanded paper to do other pastels on.

Bag Blog, you are right about the paper. I much prefer Pastelbord for easy framing, too.

Thanks, Luke is quite cute....

Checking back. Has Susan painted lately, maybe I’ve missed it. So exciting that Carol has a workshop at Susan’s, I hope the two of them get some time together. Gosh I’d love to paint with those two ladies 😀

Barbara, Susan was painting a couple of months ago when we were in New Mexico. Yes, just to see those two would be great ... and together would be super. I never got to meet Carol when they lived near Bastrop, we just didn't get in the same place at the same time. Sigh.....
