Sometimes it is easy to find items that fit, like the list with cup, plate, and named things. Harder when the list says fun/funny or funky. For these sketches, I stuck with the easy to find items.
I sketched yesterday in the travel sketchbook with the Micron 01. I mentioned the other day that they are starting a sketch group. The meeting was supposed to be yesterday. It was changed to next Wednesday. We couldn't get in touch with Pomona and I had already set aside that time, I decided to just go anyway and meet Pomona for a coffee and visit. It was nice and we stayed at the Art Center. I managed one sketch and the rest of the time was talking, talking, talking......
Number 7, with a cover - some jars of honey at the coffee shop. They sell honey and honey mead. Today they will start serving sandwiches, salads, etc. That will be very nice for that side of downtown. Art, food, wine - what more can you ask?
I sketched in the big sketchbook with the same pen today.
Number 8 cup, Number 9 plate, Number 10 bowl, Number 11 spoon and Number 12 fork. These dishes were messed up in the fire and sort of survived, they are not usable. Black spots and the finish ruined but I couldn't figure how to show that in a black and white sketch. The cup and saucer were off white with blue and pink design and the bowl was a red, white and blue Texas bowl. The spoon and fork are hand me downs from Jenny. They are usable and used daily.
A couple of photos from today....
The lake with some dappled sunlight and the hawk on the fence. Before I could get a closer photo he took off to the big tree.
A photo that Joanna took at the baseball stadium on Tuesday night. Such a beautiful sky and lovely scene. Thanks, Joanna. Nice since we couldn't be there.
