Sketching and Goats

Sketching and goats, but not sketching goats!

I sketched with the normal pen and in the big book.  I'm sketching in it as I won't take it on the trip so will not get anything in it for a while.  This is for Scavenger Hunt 454  http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1406899

Number 6, made of plastic - bowl
Number 7, made of glass - drinking glass (with blue trim)

A few days ago we decided to go try the sort of new steakhouse in Red Rock, "The Red Rock Steakhouse & Saloon".    http://www.redrocksteakhouse.com/   It was an interesting place.  Very nicely appointed and nice to see.  The food was average.  The goat roping made the drive worthwhile.

The goat rodeo was going on the the back where they have a stage for music.  It was fun to see.  The ropers were many and they were having fun and winning money!  There were families with kids all enjoying the afternoon.

These boys were herding the goats back into the pens.

Ropers of all ages and styles.

The ropers pair up in teams and form several teams with other friends.  The action was fast and furious.  We only got to watch for about 30 minutes or so before it ended.

The goats were cute and varied in colors and temperament.

We did not expect to have such different entertainment!

Back in the day, we called cowboys, "goat ropers." I'm not sure they liked that. Goats are so crazy, it would be fun to watch a goat roping.

Bag Blog, the real cowboys might not have appreciated it. :) It was fun, I wish we had seen gone to watch a bit sooner. We sat inside in the cool air conditioning and ate. It was about 90 degrees out, but they were mostly in the shade.
