A Little Bit of Sketching

I sketched day before yesterday.  I had a few minutes so sketched in the big book with a Micron 03 pen for Scavenger Hunt 437.

Number 6, salt and Number 7, pepper  in the double grinder, Number 8, sugar  Number 9, oil and Number 10, vinegar in the little jug.

I've been helping with the Austin Pastel Society Annual Juried Show.  Hopefully we got all the entries in and ready for the Juror.  The Juror this year is Marla Baggetta.http://www.marlabaggetta.com/
Marla will select the paintings that will hang in the exhibit February 29 to May 2 in the Corridor of Art in Austin.  (More details later for reception, etc.,)  She will give a demo on March 4 and a workshop March 5 and 6.  The workshop is full, but they have a waiting list.  Check the website for the slideshow and exhibit information.   www.austinpastelsociety.org

In between waiting for the images to arrive and post, I actually painted a couple of paintings for the show.  I will post them after I see if they are accepted.  There were 107 entries and 50 will be picked for the show.  That is pretty good odds to in the show.

Art shows are lots of work - for everyone involved. For some reason, I'm kind of missing my art show days.

Bag Blog, Art shows are work. I like the reception and seeing all the paintings together. I'm not sure why we want to "win". Prizes are nice, especially this show as you get mostly new art/pastel supplies. At least I painted and that is good. It seems lately I need a deadline to do anything. :(
